CHICAGO STYLE
A Multidimensional Fashion Exploration with Illinois Humanities, the south side home movie project, and CIRCLES & CIPHERS to bring together creatives, personal narratives, and Black fashion history from Chicago’s South Side.
My Role: I provided videography, editing, and live streaming. I captured the “cohort’s experience” and a culminating community fashion show while managing and producing documentary elements, ensuring the event reached a broader audience and greater depth.
Challenges & Opportunities: Properly contextualizing the cohort’s insights and experience to bring the audience into the spirit of the Community Fashion Show.
Impact: The project attracted increased community engagement; my footage was featured on WTTW’s Black Voices.
Client Feedback: “Thank you for your stellar filming, editing, live streaming, and ever-present good energy. Whenever you joined us, we not only got phenomenal footage, but the warmest, most encouraging addition of supportive and enthusiastic energy that I know helped people to both feel more comfortable in front of the camera and enjoy/connect with the overall experience of Chicago Style. That’s invaluable. I’m so honored that you were a part of this project.”
